MAJOR NEW RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY

New Railroad and Shipper Relationships: A Key to Supply Chain Improvement?

Michigan State University (MSU) is consistently ranked the #1 school for undergraduate and graduate supply chain education.  Its Center for Railway Research and Education in the Broad College of Business invites you to be among the first to learn about and take part in major new research.

Get invited to join in this important discussion:
Please join us at invited sessions Wednesday, May 16 and Friday, May 18 in Boardroom 2 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, Chicago held during the NARS 2018 Annual Meeting.

We will host short discussion-based, fact-finding sessions to share our research vision, intended outputs and enlist participants.  The objective is to improve supply chain effectiveness by identifying what leads to success, share anonymized case studies detailing how to raise the railroads’ ability to help you and your customers add value.  We plan to cover both new opportunities and address service/performance issues.

Research focus:
Research will explore relationships, perceptions, practices and technological applications in rail freight customer service.  If there is sufficient support, we plan to compare rail industry relationships with similar partnering and arm’s length relationships in other transportation modes, especially trucking and those involving 3PL partners.
Secure your invitation:
To receive an invitation, please contact Nick Little at MSU/CRRE via phone (517.353.5663) or e-mail him at littlen@msu.edu
