Interested In Joining the Board?
The leadership and decision-making body of the North American Rail Shippers Association (NARS) is the Board of Directors. They are given this authority by the organizations’ bylaws. From time to time, vacancies occur on the Board which will be filled from the NARS’ membership. These decisions are based upon the applicant’s past attendance at our Annual meetings as well as their desire to commit the time and resources to serve in this capacity. A ‘first-step’ to becoming a board member is to volunteer and work on one of our committees.
Being a member of the NARS Board of Directors is a big responsibility. Each member will be given duties, tasks, and assignments at the directions of the President and other officers of NARS. These duties, tasks, and assignments must be completed in a timely manner and to the best of your ability to insure the success of NARS. It is understood that we are all professionals with careers outside of NARS as well as other responsibilities and commitments. Maintaining the balance between the responsibilities of NARS, employers and personal is the key, and not to be taken lightly.
