SUMMER MEETING, ADVANCE NOTICE
Please set aside the dates of July
14 and 15 to attend the 231st
meeting of the Midwest Association of Rail Shippers at Lake
Lawn Lodge in Delavan, WI. The agenda, registration
and golf fees will be set in mid-March and will be posted
online and distributed at that time.
As before, we will have a golf
outing and reception on our first day, July 14, with
our business meeting scheduled for a full day on July 15.
Dress code is business casual. Networking tables will be available
for distribution of your company’s information.
The hotel has allocated a block of rooms from July 13th through
July 16th at a preferred rate of $140, single or double, for
the Luxury Lodges. There are special rates which are less
than or greater than these rates for different room sizes.
There is a three day cancellation clause in our contract.
Cutoff date for the preferred rate is June 12th at noon. Our
group rates are also available for three days prior and three
days after our meeting, on a space available basis.
For those of you that were unable to attend our meeting in
January, we had an excellent program and speakers resulting
in attendance records and very positive feedback from those
in attendance. We would still appreciate any ideas you have
for topics and speakers for the upcoming meeting.
Anyone that has not paid their membership dues for 2008 can
use either the membership
dues invoice or the membership
application. In addition, please share the application
with any prospective members. We are confident that membership
in our association is one of the best values available with
both high quality educational programs and the opportunity
to network with a broad spectrum of participants in our industry.
In addition, in 2007, MARS initiated a scholarship program
for the children and/or grand children of association members.
We also are looking for sponsors for our programs and events.
We look forward to seeing you in July.
Midwest Association of Rail
Shippers Scholarships
Midwest Association of Rail
Shippers scholarships are offered to applicants who are
daughters, sons or grandchildren of MARS members, enrolled as
full time undergraduate students at accredited four year colleges
and universities. All applicants must show a demonstrated commitment
to the program in which they are enrolled.
